January 24, 2011

Family!
It's been so FREEZING here lately! Last night was especially ridiculous! We were driving home and the temperature on our car said it was 1 degree outside! I was not having a fun time! We parked and ran to our apartment and Sister Lillywhite and I both jumped under my heater blanket and snuggled on my bed! I thought I was going to get frostbite! Ahhh... I don't like the cold weather! YUCK! We decided to go tracting the other day and we were all bundled up and warm but after tracting for an hour in 8 degree weather I was so so cold! No more doing that! Ha-ha... but I was thinking of dad when I was doing it and how he wanted me to tract all day and I thought that was good enough for a Southern Utah girl to be in 1 digit weather! Anyways... enough about the cold!

This week was transfers and my new companion is Sister Lillywhite! She is pretty great! It was cool because she came out in October and was trained by Sister LeSueur in my last district and so we had already hung out and had gotten to know each other! It was good because the first week with a new companion can be so awkward trying to break the ice and getting to know each other. But we were already great friends! She is pretty sweet! I am lucky because my last few companions have all been amazing! Heavenly Father is blessing me. I also think that I learned better patience at the beginning of the mission and so I am a lot better at that now. Still working on it at times but a lot better! The mission can really shape our lives if we let it! I have learned so much! Sister Lillywhite is from Salt Lake City and has been out 2 transfers. I am follow up training her. Hmmm... I don't really know what else to say about her. I love her! I do miss Sister Hazleton though! 6 weeks just wasn't enough time with her.

We are not allowed on facebook. I usually just have members get on here for me and update stuff and load pictures on. That's so exciting about Trevor's baptism! He is so cute! You should send me a couple pictures of it!

The work here has picked up a little. We are teaching some amazing people! Krystal Fox has a baptismal date for March 12. Chastity and Bob both came to church this Sunday! We just need to find a few more. We still haven't been able to get many member referrals. But we are getting more members to come out and teach with us and that's great! They are so amazing though! They never let us go one night without dinner!

I was able to see the eye doctor this week! It went well. She said that my prescription has changed a little but nothing that I should really worry about. It was only the left eye that changed a tiny bit. She said that I shouldn't have them on when I read and so she thought it was smart that I only used them for driving and reading the board and stuff. But other than that it was fine.

I have been eating healthier. I try and take smaller portions at members and I just don't really crave sweets anymore. I haven't even opened the Cadbury eggs you sent me for Christmas. And that's weird. I have been eating a lot of salads for lunch and either smoothies or whole wheat cereal for breakfast.

Lance writes as much as he can. I know that he is really busy and I feel bad that he has such a tight schedule. He lives in St. George now with some of his buddies. You could call him and have him over for dinner sometime. Especially since I am either going to send him or you a package that will have some things for both of you in it.

But it has been a great week! Everyone that reads this should make a profile on Mormon.org because I want to look it up and then I can show my investigators and members who you are!
Love, Sister Madison Whitney

p.s. Kimber, Make sure you make a profile before you leave! I wish I could make one now but can't and when you get out you can direct your investigators and members to your own profile!
And I have been out for a year this Thursday! CRAZY!

January 18, 2011

Hey Family!
Craziest thing happened last night! So Sister Hazleton and I were planning and we get this call from our district leader and he tells us that he has transfer calls. Well we were way surprised because it was a night early! He told us that I was staying in mound builders and Sister Hazleton was being transferred! Ugh! I feel so jipped! I seriously love her so much and I only get to spend 6 weeks with her! I was looking forward to getting to know her better. It stinks but I know that the Lord has plans for me. It's just so nerve racking to get a new companion. I hate waiting... I hope that we get along! I know I will love whoever it is but I have found that I have favorite companions and it's really hard going from someone you love and teach with really well to a more difficult companion. But it's times like these when I have to tell myself I will go where you want me to go and I will do what you want me to do! It will be great though!
This week has been amazing! I had the best birthday! The members spoiled me :) They are so amazing! Sister Hazleton was the best also! She got up and made me waffles! Not just any plain waffles either but we did it with the strawberry syrup, the strawberries, and the whip cream! It was delicious! I love that girl! It was funny though because on my birthday is snowed all day here. We started the day out fine with breakfast, studies, and then we had an appointment. and then for lunch we went to olive garden! We got the all you can eat soup, salad, and breadsticks! It was delicious! After lunch we were headed to another appointment but then the roads were so slick we had to go inside! It was fun to be inside for most of my birthday... ha-ha. It actually wasn't bad because I was able to get more studies in and I actually finished Jesus The Christ! That was such an amazing book! Very Long though! Now I am going to try to read the New Testament in the next 6 weeks! I am excited because I think I will understand it better because I read Jesus The Christ!
But anyways... the Lee's an amazing family in our ward made me a birthday dinner and so they came and picked us up for the dinner and we had cake and we snuggled on the couch with the girls of the family and read scriptures! It was a wonderful night! Who would ever think snuggling on a couch and reading scriptures would be how I wanted to spend my birthday night but I loved it! Pat and Greg Smith had us over on Wednesday and we had dinner and cake and ice-cream! They also got me a birthday present which consisted of stationary, a clipboard, and a letter opener! It was the best thing ever! Who ever knew I could like a letter opener so much! But it is totally ligit! I love it! It's pink too :)
Thursday was such an amazing day! We went to the temple with Amy and it was the best! Not to mention Sister LeSueur and Sister Loosli came with their companions! It was so wonderful to see both of them! I love my companions! We also had dinner with the Williams family and they had more cake for me! They are awesome! Their are seriously so many wonderful families in this area!
Friday was a great day also! We had specialized training from 9am to 3pm with President and Sister Jensen! It was wonderful except I had to give a talk in front of a whole lot of missionaries! It was so scary! I still hate giving talks but everyone said I did good and President Jensen used part of my talk in training and thanked me and so it was fine just nerve racking! But we went over the 8 fundamental principles we have been learning and they are truly inspired! Then we learned how mormon.org is going to start being a huge tool in our work! It's so exciting we are supposed to get on a few times a week now and familiarize ourselves with it! All the adult members are encouraged to get on and make profiles! You should defiantly check it out! I love it! There was a section on it in the January Ensign!
Lets see... I am almost out of time and I could just keep going! This week has seriously been amazing! I have seen so many blessings! Krystal Fox is progressing towards baptism and she keeps inviting her friends to learn which is great! I am so excited for her! We love her so much! It truly is a wonderful place to be!
Alright... to answer questions mom had. I did get to call the doctor and they said you needed to send them your tax information of something. How you claimed me on your taxes...I don't know. They weren't really sure so maybe you should call them again. That's cool that Dad wants to be a volunteer firefighter! That would be interesting. I always tell people about grandpa when I run into firemen out here! That's so exciting about Trevor’s baptism! I got an invitation and it was so cute! I am sad I will not be there but that's awesome! We actually were able to go to a little boy's baptism on Sunday because they invited a few non members and so we gave a presentation on the Book of Mormon while Sai the boy and his dad were drying off! I am glad to here that everyone is doing good and that things are moving forward at home! That's wonderful! I hope you have a wonderful week! I love you so much! Thanks for the support and love!
Love, Sister Madison Whitney
p.s. That's so cool about Christian! He will love it! When does he go into the MTC? Could you find out when Kimber goes into the MTC also! Thanks

January 18, 2011

Hey... If you read in Alma 50 it explains why it's called Moundbuilders. There are mounds (or heaps of dirt) all over the city here! It's pretty sweet! I just want to say Thank you to the ward! I appreciate all the prayers! And of course that if anyone feels inclined to write I love getting mail! Thanks mom! I love you!

Family!!!
Can you believe that your oldest child is 22 tomorrow? Crazy!!! I will tell you what this week has been a great one! I truly love Sister Hazleton and it's so great to be working here in Mound builders! The members are defiantly spoiling me for my birthday! It's like my birthday just keeps going and it hasn't even started! I love it :) This week I have had a few member families cook me whatever I wanted for my birthday. We went to Shauna Hawks on Friday night and they made me Chinese! It was so good! And They wouldn't let me eat with a fork and so I learned how to use chopsticks. I ate really slow but I did it. Saturday night the Haltom’s (a crazy funny older couple) took us out of our area to go to dinner at Longhorns! It was super yummy... I felt kind of weird because it was expensive but they didn't care and they wouldn't even let me order chicken because it was the cheapest thing on the menu they made me get steak. They also had the people sing to me for my birthday and they gave me ice cream. Well, I was sharing it with Sister Hazleton and all of the sudden she's like don't eat anymore of this ice-cream. Then she told me it wasn't vanilla bean in the ice-cream but it was coffee bean! Ahhh... we totally broke the Word of Wisdom... oops but we of course didn't mean to. It was just a funny experience letting me know that I am not in Utah anymore. We also were able to find a couple new investigators this week which was awesome! We went to have a lesson with Krystal Fox and she had 2 friends there ready to learn! They were so open to the message and the spirit was so strong during the lesson! Incredible! I love being a missionary! It's so cool because we go in with a lesson planned but then we follow that as the spirit directs. Well the plan we had planned wasn't what they needed and so we were able to follow the spirit and turn to the scriptures and read in Alma 36 with them! It was amazing!
Sunday was a great day also! We had 3 investigators show up at church! Krystal and her 2 kids came, Pam and her daughter, and Whitney Stevens and her entire family (including her husband which is a miracle)! It was such a wonderful day! And they all loved church and want to come back! It was great! Then we went to the Braziers that night and had amazing lettuce wraps and then watched the CES Fireside which was amazing! Good Times!
This week should be a great one also! We get to go to the temple on Thursday for our quarterly thing and I am so excited! And even better is that Amy is taking us! I am so excited I love going to the temple! That is like the best birthday present of all! I love it!
But I am so grateful to be serving and I love you guys so much! You are such an amazing family! Thanks for all the love and support!
Love, Sister Madison Whitney

January 3, 2011

Hello Hello!
Can you believe it's 2011? It's just crazy to me! I was looking at the transfers I have been out and how many I have left and I only have 4 more transfers after I finish this one! I really can't believe how fast time goes by! It's insane... New Years Eve was alright. We had to be in by 7 p.m. and we didn't find that out till the night before and so that was kind of lame because we were supposed to go to a members party but Sister Hazleton and I made our own party. We borrowed some games from one of the members and we played games, ate ice cream, and had our Sparkling Grape Juice :) Sister Hazleton is a pretty fun companion! I have been blessed with really great companions for the most part. I have defiantly had to learn some patience but it's been really good!
This week has been a pretty good week. I am feeling a lot better which is great! We are actually going to a chiropractor today and so that should make me feel even better because I have been really tight. We are continuing to work with the members here a lot! We are stressing family mission plans and trying to help them strengthen their families and share the gospel. We still haven't had much luck with finding new people to teach but last week we went through all of our potential investigator lists and reorganized them and we have a lot of people to contact and I think we will be able to find a lot of people through that. Crystal Fox did come to church yesterday and she loved it! That was really great! She is working towards baptism but has some obstacles to overcome! We are pretty sure she will be ready to be baptized around mid February! We just changed church times for the new year and so now we go to church at 1:00 p.m. and it's great because more investigators will come now. They don't have the we slept in excuse!
I will defiantly call a few places about my eyes before I just pick someone. I was planning on just going through the phone book. The weather has it's up's and down's here. It's like they say... If you don't like the weather stay 5 mins and it will change. It's been raining, sunny, cold. Today it's about 30's which isn't horrible still cold. I think it's just the humidity and the wind that makes it so cold. That's really cool that Christian is getting his mission call soon! That will be awesome for him and kimber to be out at the same time! I will defiantly miss kimber when I get home! I won't see her for almost 3 years! That's insane but I love being able to write her! She's always been such a great friend!
But I love you guys so much! I really do appreciate everyone's love and support! I love hearing from you! I hope that your week is amazing! Start the new year off good! Read your scriptures and pray :)
I know that this church is Christ's church on the earth today! I know that the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ! I know that when we read and study it diligently a power will flow into our lives! I know that Christ's Atonement is REAL and that we can all return to live with our Heavenly Father and Savior as we repent and keep the commandments!
I Love you! Love, Sister Madison Whitney
p.s. Please don't send me any sweets for my birthday! I am trying to eat healthier and I have so much Christmas candy left still it's ridiculous!

Family!
It was so great talking to you on Christmas! It just seemed like time flew by! Crazy... I can't believe Christmas has come and gone! It's insane how fast everything goes by! My 22nd Birthday will be here shortly! That's nuts! I can't believe I will be 22! Wow... I am still not feeling the greatest! Sunday I woke up with another fever and so we just went to sacrament and then went home and I slept pretty much all day! Today I woke up and felt a little better now it's mostly just sinus and mucus stuff. I am going to go by some Sudafed today at Wal-Mart! Try and kick this because it's no fun being sick on a mission. You can't even just lay down and watch TV.. it's all just sleep and there is only so much scripture and ensign reading you can do especially when your not very coherent. Ha-ha. The rest of Christmas was fun! We ended up staying at the Williams (the bishop of the Mound builders ward) for a few hours. We ate dinner and then I just laid on there couch and watch everyone play with there new toys. Then we headed over to the Trauntveins- Amy and Todd’s. It was fun we got to know them a little better and then we played a board game. It was good to be with family! It's weird because I didn't really even know any of their kids. Hopefully we will see them on New Years Eve at a party we are going to and then she may come out teaching with us a few times. A new quarter is also coming up and so it would be great to have her take us to the temple but we will see. It's good to be around family... even though it's like being around any other member family in the ward. Everyone really just brings you in!
Let's see what else... I don't really have a lot to say since I talked to you like 2 days ago. But things are going really good still. Mound builders is a really nice area! Sister Hazleton and I are getting along great and having a blast! We are trying to find new people to teach. We will get there!
Thanks for all your love and support! I hope things are going well at home! I love you and miss you!

December 20, 2010

Hey Family!
It's Sister Whitney! Ha-ha... I have been doing really good this past week. We have been working really hard. Trying to find more people to teach! We don't have a very big teaching pool and so it's been difficult. I have always been in areas with a lot of investigators and now we don't have very much. But we are working with the members to try and find some and also doing some tracting in this teen weather! It's so cold! But we bundle up... we did commit someone to baptism! But then she didn't come to church and so that was lame! But her name is crystal fox and she really want's to change her life! So that will be good. We are also teaching Bob, Whitney, and Thomas. But they are not very progressive. Sadly... But we are working with them. Our real focus is working with the members and trying to gain their trust so that they will give us their friends name to teach! I am no longer in a branch. I am in a ward now. And so their are a quite a bit of people at church! It's kind of nice!
Sister Hazleton is from Monticello, Ut. She is really awesome! We get along really great so far! It's been fun! She is really short though! She comes up to my shoulders. It's funny. She has a boyfriend also and had actually a very similar situation. Her boyfriend got home 15 days after she left on her mission. But we both knew we needed to go. And it's the best decision of our lives.
I am really excited for this next week! We have a lot of fun plans. Christmas on the mission is pretty awesome! We have so much candy, fudge, and stuff! Ugh... but we are giving some of it away. The members here are really awesome! I am so happy to spend Christmas here! It will be great! Especially since we get to go over to Amy's! I am so excited for that! I saw them yesterday at church! It was fun to sit and talk to her! Todd told me that Brent was only like 40 mins away the other day. He was in Columbus! Crazy...
I did get my package and I am waiting till Christmas to open them. We are planning on calling around 11-12. So I believe that's 9-10 your time. Is that going to be ok? If its not let Amy know and she can call me. And I am not planning on getting a phone card because I am calling on a member's cell phone. And so it should be free weekends. We are calling from Bishop Williams house.
That's cool that you were able to see Mark Larsen. It's weird that I saw him a few weeks ago and then you saw him. I don't know why they would think Sister Loosli is sassy. She seemed fine! I think she sometimes puts off that impression because she is gorgeous! She is also from a rich family and so yeah. But once you get to know her she is truly amazing! One of my favorite companions!
That's cool that Nick got his mission call to Nashville Tennessee! That will be awesome! Not as cool as Columbus Ohio! Ha-ha... It's pretty much the best mission in the world!
The doctor had to run one extra test because she wanted to check my blood count or something. I am not sure... But yeah. The doctor has me go in quarterly to see her. That's four time a year. I am taking 2 pills. I believe most of my levels are normal but there is one that is still high. Do I need to fill out any more medical papers? I talked to Sister Jensen about getting my eyes checked and she said to find someone in the area I am serving in. I am going to ask some people in the ward what doctor I should go to.
I hope that you have a good week! I can't wait to talk to you on Saturday! I love you very much! Thanks!
Love, Sister Madison Whitney
p.s. Tevon says Hi and Merry Christmas! Tevon is an awesome recent convert in this area!
I only get 40 mins. to talk. So have some questions ready :) Love ya!

December 13, 2010

Hey Family!
It has been a crazy week! Transfer weeks always are crazy though! It started off amazing though! Monday for p-day we had a way sweet time hanging out with our district and zone leaders! We had a tie die party and it was a blast! Had some Christmas music going, hot chocolate, and lots of colors! I loved it! Then on Tuesday we got transfer calls telling me that I was being transferred out and Sister Loosli was staying. It was kind of hard news to hear but I was expecting it. Wednesday was of course the hardest! I had to pack up (I have way to much stuff) and I had to say my goodbyes ( It was definitely the hardest to say goodbye to my recent converts! I cried when I said goodbye to Abby and her kids, Danielle and Keith, and Terra! It will be hard not seeing them.
Thursday we drove down to Columbus and I found out that I was coming to Newark and serving in the Mound builders ward! My companion is Sister Hazleton and she has only been out 6 weeks. It's kind of hard because she doesn't know the members or the are really good so it's kind of like starting from the beginning. But it will be good. We don't have hardly any investigators are anyone with a baptismal date but I am just going to work my hardest to get to know the people and the area! I know that there is so much potential here and I am excited about it! I am really excited because I have served with a lot a few companions that had already served in this area and I have heard that it is so amazing!
And I knew that Amy and her family were in the other ward and so that is really exciting! I am excited to see them! I didn't on Sunday which was sad but hopefully soon. It has been crazy weather here the last 2 days! It was raining Sunday morning when we headed to church and during sacrament it just started pouring down snow! It snowed pretty much all day and it lightly snowing right now. So I am the senior companion still, the follow up trainer and I am driving! It's been intense because I hardly drove in the snow at home. But I am being careful and it's been fine!
I haven't gotten your package yet with the fudge or the s.d. card but I am sure I will get it soon. Thanks for all that you do! I haven't been really craving any holiday treats or anything. I like caramel and I am sad I won't be home to pull taffy this year but I am trying to eat healthier and so I don't want a ton of candy. Plus since we have been here the members have given us a ton of stuff! Fudge, Popcorn, etc... They are amazing though! I am super excited to get to know the members here they seem wonderful!
That's cool that you went up to the Christmas party! It's funny that you saw Brent and Laurna and I will probably get to see Amy! I would love to go over there for Christmas but I am not sure how that would work. I am sure we could but I would just have to get permission to go out of our area from the district leader and I would need to somehow get a hold of Amy. I could probably get it from the Newark elders.

I did get the package from the Myers. I was actually going to send them a Christmas card telling them thank you today! That was so nice of them!
I am just really excited for this new challenge of my mission. I know that Heavenly Father will bless me and my companion! We are striving our hardest to work hard and be obedient! I love the gospel and I love the joy and happiness that it brings into my life and the lives of those I teach!
I hope that you have a good week! I love you all!
Love Madison Whitney

December 6, 2010

Hello Family!
It is so cold here in Ohio! It has been snowing and it's been in the 20-30's during the day! Crazy! I have pulled out all my winter clothes and I have been layering up! I have my boots, leggings, gloves, etc...It's been staying pretty warmish. This week was a pretty weird one. Ha-ha... We taught a lot of our Recent Convert and Less Actives this week because some of our investigators are being lame and are sick! That is what isn't fun about this season everyone is sick and it is hard to get a hold of people. But they are still awesome!
We have had some amazing miracles this week though! We had a member referral named Ronnie and he is this way chill black guy. Well we tried going to see him and he set up a return appointment but then he wasn't there when we went back. Usually that means they just ditched us. Well we called him and he didn't want to set up another appt. but he wanted the church address. So I gave it to him not really thinking more about it. Well Sunday he just shows up to church! It was sweet! He loved church so much that he wants to learn more now to! It's awesome!
And not to mention we walk into the library today and this guy is like, are they Mormons. We just kept walking because he said it weirdly and to his friends. Well after we sit down he comes up to us and wants to set up an appointment to learn more! Just tiny little miracles here and there! We have so much potential in this area still I hope that I get to stay for Christmas! I would love that! But in the attitude of Transfers you say... I will go where you want me to go dear Lord!
I started popping my knuckles again:( It's lame! The guy I was doing it with called it off and all my motivation was gone! I am still kind of trying but it's not working so well.
That's fun that Lance came over for dinner and was able to play games with you! Do you like him enough for him to be your son in law? ha-ha... and of course I want him there for Christmas! I did get another electric blanket.. It's a really pretty blue and it's so warm! It makes it hard to get out of bed. I did get the package you sent last week! Thanks for the triples and the ensign! The scripture case is also perfect because it's Abby's birthday next week and we are having a little party for her and I really wanted to get her something! So that's perfect! Thanks! Transfer calls are on Wednesday and so if I get transferred maybe I will have Sister Rickard send you a text of something. But we will see.. I hope I don't go! I would love to be here with the members I know and my recent converts! It's always so hard leaving an area because you have really come to love the people! I am excited to call home for Christmas! But I don't know what time I will be calling. It depends what area I am in and who's house we call from.
I didn't get an appointment to have my eyes checked. I forgot to tell you the truth I will call Sister Jensen today. I did get a chance to watch the Christmas Devotional last night. We went to the Titensors and watched it in their theater room with homemade popped popcorn! It was a fun evening! Their family reminds me a lot of ours. They have 2 sons Ben and Sam and they remind me a lot of Zack and Brigham! I don't know what companion I will be with for Christmas. Sister Loosli's family asked what they could get me today also. I thought that was funny. But probably just a little stocking, something generic depending on who I have. I will be able to tell you this week maybe through a member emailing or texting you.
Well... Crazy but time is already up! I love you very very much and I hope that you have an amazing day and week!
Love, Sister Madison Whitney

November 30, 2010

Hey Family!
It was a great week this week! We were able to find 4 new people to teach! It was fabulous! It's wonderful having so many recent converts because they are so excited to share the gospel and they always find new people for us to teach. We are teaching Darrin, Zack, and Brandi! Brandi was a miracle! We went over to the Wakelys for Thanksgiving lunch and she came up to us and was like... I want to take the lessons and get baptized! It was insane! We had only met her like once or twice! Who just tells missionaries they want to be baptized! It was amazing... She is dating the Wakely's son Kenny who is a branch missionary and I guess he gave her a copy of the Book of Mormon and has been telling her about the gospel. We taught her the first lesson on Sunday about The Restoration and she loved it! We set a baptismal date of December 18th! I hope I am still in the area to see it but you never know. Thanksgiving day we ended up having 3 Thanksgiving Dinners! I could hardly eat anything though! Too much food... It was way fun and good though!
Today we went to Columbus for my doctors appt. It went well. The doctor kind of wants me to get surgery but I just tell her I want to stick with the pills at least until I get off my mission. I feel fine though... But she is kind of wanting me to get my eyes checked. I don't remember the last time I had that done. But she want's to make sure the medicine isn't effecting it. It has been pretty cold here but I just bundle up. It is supposed to snow tomorrow and I am actually excited because I can't wear my boots until it snows and my feet have been cold. I haven't been able to take the blanket back yet. I did get the receipt and plan on taking it back after we are done emailing.
It has been a wonderful week though and I am excited for December! I would love to get Christmas music this week! I don't have very much.
I hope everything is going good for you! I love you so much and I miss you! I keep you in my prayers and hope you are having a wonderful time!
Love, Sister Whitney
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TABITHA AND CASSIE! I love you girls!

November 23, 2010

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
I can't even believe that it is Thanksgiving! It's so weird! This is only the 2nd Thanksgiving where I haven't been home! But I am excited to celebrate it out here! We are eating at the Wakely's home for Thanksgiving! I am excited! They are a wonderful family and amazing cooks! I always love eating at their house! We will also go to the Smithbergers on Saturday for their Thanksgiving Dinner! I am excited! It will be great! That's fun that you were able to have an early Thanksgiving with Brent's family! I bet that is fun! I miss them, Especially Cassie! Except she never writes me anymore.
This last week was amazing! Abby, Zoey, Chloe, and Danielle were all Baptized on the 20th of November! It was such an amazing baptism! The spirit was so strong and it was so good to see them finally make it! It was a hard road for Abby to quit smoking but she did it! It has been amazing to work with her! I have seen such a change from when we first knocked on her door! And now her husband is planning on getting baptized on Dec. 4th! It's wonderful!
We have found a few more people to teach! Member Referrals’ are the best! We are teaching a girl named Sarah Smith that is super excited to learn! She is just a single mom with 4 kids and is really busy. But we are finding those that are prepared and so that is good!
We went to the temple today! I loved it! The temple is the best place on earth! I wish that I could go more! We went with the other Sister Missionaries in Clearfork. It was Sister LeSuer's birthday today! It just feels so peaceful in the temple! I would sit in the celestial room all day if I could!
I guess not too much has happened this week! We have been able to teach more lessons. But nothing too exciting, besides the baptism of course! People always say that your teaching pool drains with the font! Which is true but it's the best way to see it get smaller. Now we just need to work hard to find more people to teach!
Mom, I got the package! Thanks so much for the blanket! Except I went to use it last night and it isn't working:( I don't know what's wrong it's flashing which on the instructions it says that when it flashes something is wrong with it. I don't know if you could possibly send me the packaging and the receipt so I could return it and get a new one. Where did you get it? Thanks for putting the triples in with my Christmas Package when it comes! If you could include some general conference ensigns that would be much appreciated! I love having a copy to my self so I can read through it and mark it up and take notes on it.
Anyways... Transfers are on Dec. 9th so if you can either send my Christmas package before then or to the Mission address that would be great! I love you so much and I miss you! I hope that you have an amazing week!
Love, Sister Madison Whitney
